The female-specific “You Go Girl” mentoring program, educates girls ages 10-15 on a variety of subjects. Young ladies from each the seven Community Centers in the City of Buffalo where PAL provides programs may participate. The major objectives of the program are to give girls the opportunity to enhance their self-respect, self-confidence and self-esteem; promote a sense of belonging, increase their knowledge on subjects such as self-esteem, hygiene, drugs, smoking, teen pregnancy, and eating disorders; promote women role models; and to develop leadership skills. They will receive program supplies, field trips, speakers, arts & crafts projects, and snacks through the program.

As always, PAL promotes educational programming in ways that are not just enriching to the participants but are conducted in a fun atmosphere where individuals are comfortable and thereby more likely to open themselves up to the benefits of the program and the interaction between mentors and other participants.
