I am extremely proud to be the Executive Director of the Police Athletic League of Buffalo. While it is a very challenging endeavor, I can’t describe it as my job…It is my vocation and passion.
We at PAL take our responsibility of providing services to youth very seriously. For the most part, the days of kids choosing up “pick-up” games at the local schoolyard or parking lot are all but gone. The PAL, through our open gym programs at our Community Centers, provides neighborhood kids with the opportunity of interacting with other area youths in a safe and supervised venue.
In addition to open gym and game room activities, Community Center Supervisors organize flag football, basketball, and other programs, set up arts and craft projects, schedule bowling and pool parties and other fun and educational excursion to sporting events, cultural attractions, or field trips to interesting and unique places.
Our Baseball and Basketball Leagues are open to youth throughout Western New York and interaction between teams from all over Erie County and beyond offers a unique opportunity for some kids to build relationships and learn to get along with people outside of their own environment. Athletic enrichment is only one aspect of PAL programming. The larger issue is for us to help each child develop life skills in setting goals and working hard to achieve them.
A program such as PAL cannot hope to be successful without a great staff and the financial assistance of our government and community sponsors and partners, along with donations from the community at large. I am eternally grateful to all of our benefactors and ask that you give them your support.
Please take some time to browse through our website to get a better understanding of everything PAL offers.
