23rd Annual

Buffalo Ball Drop & Fire Works Display

At Iskalo Development’s Electric Tower
December 31st from 10:30PM till to 2011!

It is a New Year’s tradition, thousands of people, crowding the streets of downtown buffalo, ringing in the New Year. Last year, 40 thousand people on the streets watched it, and tens of thousands tuned in to see the ball drop along with the one from Times Square.

Slide1.jpgThe Police Athletic League of Buffalo is pleased to announce the 23rd Annual “Buffalo Ball Drop & Fireworks Display” at Iskalo Development’s Electric Tower is back, to ring in 2011!  Key donors stepped-up once again to make sure the annual tradition continues and shows the thousands of guests from around the world here for the World Junior Hockey Tournament how Buffalo rings in the New Year.

Last year’s event was nearly postponed due to lack of a significant funding source necessary to cover the large production, security, fireworks and ancillary costs of the Buffalo Ball Drop and Fireworks Display. But thanks to the generous support of our sponsors like Chevy Dealers of Western New York, Independent Health, Iskalo Development, Local Edge Media, WGRF-FM 97 Rock, WKBW Channel 7, Upstate New York Transplant Services, and Veolia Water, the show will go on!

Event Schedule

10:30 PM - The party starts with Dennis George,”The Quizmaster.”  The Quizmaster will test your skills while he engages the crowd with a fast-paced trivia show to warm-up early revelers coming from First Night prior to the concert start at Roosevelt Park.

11:00 PM - The “Countdown To 2011” special will air on WKBW-DT showcasing all the excitement from Times Square and the Buffalo Ball Drop & Fireworks display.  Attendees will enjoy a variety of live music featuring local band headliner “More Than Me,” who opened for Paul McCartney in London this summer!

11:59 PM – The ball drops and the fireworks extravaganza begins!
